If you follow college sports, Northwestern’s football, baseball, softball, basketball, track and field, tennis, volleyball, soccer and rowing teams provide ample opportunity to come and support your local team.
[singlepic id=48 w=225 h=151 float=left]The Natchitoches/Northwestern Symphony Orchestra has been performing for nearly 40 years. Currently, it offers four classical concerts annually. It joins with other groups to offer a performance of music, dance, and drama during multiple performances the week of the Natchitoches Christmas Festival. There are also children’s concerts and a pops concert each fall.
Northwestern State’s School of Creative and Performing Arts offers wonderful theatrical performances through its theatre and dance program. Live productions are housed in A.A. Fredericks Auditorium, Theatre West and The Loft Theatre. The program is one of only 150 programs in the United States accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre.
