NATCHITOCHES, LA – Park Rangers from Cane River Creole National Historical Park will continue to offer free guided walking tours of the Natchitoches Historic District.
The tours will take place:
- Thursday, June 27, 10 a.m.
- Friday, June 28, 10 a.m.
- Saturday, June 29, 10 a.m.
- Sunday, June 30, 10 a.m.
Each tour will begin at the Cunningham Law Office located at 550 Second Street next to the fire station in downtown Natchitoches.
The tour covers 300 years of Natchitoches history. Along the route visitors will learn about landmarks associated with early European settlement, the Creole culture, the Civil War, African American history, and modern preservation efforts.
Each tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and covers a distance of just over 0.5 miles. Visitors should be prepared to climb stairs and ramps. Visitors are encouraged to bring bottled water.
