Kate Chopin House
Location -
Constructed in the early 1800s by Alexis Cloutier, this house was later the home of Kate Chopin, the renowned novelist and author of The Awakening and many Creole stories. The complex includes a restored blacksmith shop, a building that served as a doctor’s office, and also houses the Bayou Folk Museum, which features among its contents many agricultural implements.
